So... all of the novelty in my life...

1. finished first year at Liberty. good grades... good friends. I'm satisfied.
2. downloaded aim so i can stay in touch with LU ppl
3. back in Iowa...
4. packing for Spain
5. TESL 30-hour practicum next week

I have changed this past year. My expectations of college didn't become reality, but reality turned out good... just good in slightly different ways.

Thank you, God, for bringing me through this year! I would have never made it without You! I have been stretched... and You have been the unchanging, faithful, loving, and merciful God that You are.

so, it's been forever since i updated.

This week went super-well. I started tutoring for the ELI (English Language Institute) here on campus, and I'm loving it already! It's great experience for my future job... plus I'm learning a lot more about some other cultures... and making some new international friends. hoorah. I'm tutoring a South Korean girl named Hari, and she is so sweet! She's hilarious, too. Very outgoing, fun... I'm so glad I get to tutor her! We met on Thursday for the first time, and then yesterday, Nicole (friend on my hall who's also tutoring) and I went to Alyssa's party for the ELI students and tutors. We had a blast!!! I absolutely love all of the students...and the Korean food that we ate. mmmm

I'm getting some sort of cold. My head is so congested.

I miss my Iowans!!!!!!!!

Ground Rules: The First player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 weird habits/facts of yourself", and people who get tagged need to write a Xanga entry about their 5 weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't' forget to leave a comment that says, "You are tagged" in their Xanga and tell them to read yours.

My 5 weird habits...

1. I croak...becuase I can't burp. It's physically impossible for me... because the bottom of my esophagus is smaller than the normal person's. So I make these crazy little noises instead.

2. When I make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches... I mix the peanut butter and jelly before I put it on the bread. It tastes better that way, no joke. Try it some time.

3. Sometimes I randomly start talking in Spanish. I guess that's a weird habit...

4. When I have piano competitions or recitals (to a lesser extent)... I never listen to the  pianists before me. I eat a banana an hour or so before I perform... I never wear any sort of jewelry or paint my fingernails... and I never play through a piece in its entirety that day.

5. I like sleeping with those eye cover/mask thingys on. They relax me. ahhhh.

and... if I forgot anything, let me know. I don't really see my own weird habits.

I tag... 1. Lisa!  2. Jared!   3. Amber!   4. Ashley (from LU)! and.... 5. Amy from Cedarville! :)

and yes... I had an awesome, wondeful, crazy, time with my pals in Cedar Rapids yesterday and Wednesday. and don't laugh... but last night I had trouble sleeping because of that movie, JARED and LISA! Thanks a lot. I almost called you in the middle of the night to whimper :P..... but let's keep that on the "DL" ok?
